Helping patients navigate their concerns about COVID-19

Dear patients,

In the current climate, we understand that patients’ concerns are heightened as we are all trying to make sense of this pandemic. Nevertheless, our clinic continues to carry on operating and accepting patients from all over Europe and did so almost through the entire COVID-19 period. Each month, throughout all our departments we perform 200 to 250 various surgeries on foreign patients who travel from the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Spain and other countries.

Quick brief - how does it work?

We have operated on patients from abroad since the start of pandemic with exception to a few months in the spring of 2020 last year. The clinic has worked out all the safety requirements – the entire medical team and surgeons are fully vaccinated. This means that it is now even more safe to visit our clinic as the entire clinic is officially protected from the virus.

You can get your surgery after 3 days of arriving in Lithuania, you do not have to isolate for 10 days in hotel before your surgery. Nevertheless, you do not have to stay in Lithuania for the full 10 days.

According to the latest updates, you can travel for medical reasons to and from the UK, EU and other places. There is no specific list of surgeries that are permitted under this rule.

  • COVID-19 PCR or antigen test done within 72 hours of travelling to Lithuania is necessary to enter the country, unless you are fully vaccinated.
  • According to the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation in Lithuania face mask is mandatory, covering both mouth and nose,  while communicating with other people and indoors.

The clinic also has some additional requirements, needed to ensure your safety and the safety of other patients and other members of our community:

  • The patient is asked to arrive to Lithuania at least 3 days before the surgery and have the COVID-19 test done here.
  • You do not need to have PCR test done only if you are fully vaccinated.
  • We highly recommend having an additional COVID-19 test in the home country. This would lower the chance of getting a positive COVID-19 test result once the patient arrives.
  • Self-isolation requirements may apply depending on the country of arrival. We also ask you to avoid crowded places such as supermarkets, restaurants, museums, public events, etc. and follow mostly Clinic-Accommodation route;
  • The clinic will not cover any travelling and accommodation expenses in case a patient receives a positive result after having their COVID-19 tests done upon arrival in Lithuania.

In addition to that, as previously all travellers must fill out an online form in order to bypass unnecessary form-filling at the airport, save time, and avoid contacts with other people.

During your entire stay in Lithuania, you will receive personal care as well as the transport to and from the clinic, hotel, and airport as usual. We would like to assure you that all patients are picked up and taken to appointments in separate vehicles.

If you cannot visit Nordesthetics for reasons outside of your control, we want you to know that we are flexible and we are willing to help you in this situation. Please contact our customer representative to help you find the best solution and a new time for your surgery.
